The infinite green onion glitch
Stop buying green onions every week. Save the bottom 5 cm and regrow them in water or, better, in soil, they keep going for months.

The problem
If you buy new green onions every time, you're going to love this hack. Save money and take your ingredients into your own hands.
The fix
When you use and cut your green onion, save about 5 cm (2 in) of the bottom part to regrow it. Two ways from there:
1. The easy way: drop it in a cup of water. You have to refresh the water frequently, so it's high maintenance.
2. The stronger, lower-maintenance way: put it into soil. It'll keep growing for months indoors.
