Protein Mug Cake with a Chocolate Lava Core
This protein mug cake is healthy and good for your gains. Mashed banana does the sweetening, a chocolate ball in the middle does the lava, and the microwave does the rest, so now you can eat mug cakes every day.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ripe banana
- 50 g flour
- 15 g cocoa powder
- 1/3 tsp baking powder
- 1 scoop protein powder, chocolate or banana
- 60 ml milk of your choice
- for greasing butter
- 1 Lindt or other chocolate ball, for the lava core
- a tiny pinch salt
Method
- 1
Mash half a banana with a fork in a bowl.
- 2
To the same bowl, add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, a tiny pinch of salt and a scoop of protein powder.
- 3
Add the milk and mix until completely smooth.
- 4
Grease a microwave-proof ramekin with butter and add the mixture.
- 5
Push a chocolate ball into the middle for a juicy lava core, I didn't use any sweetener, so this does that job too.
- 6
Microwave for about 1 to 2 minutes. It really depends on your microwave, so experiment with the timing: you want a gooey inside and a nice fluffy outside.
